Opelousas A funeral service will be held for Woodrow Woody Deville at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. The Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen will conduct the funeral service. Burial will be held at St. Andrew Church Cemetery in Plaisance, LA.

Mr. Deville, age 77, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at his residence.

Woody graduated high school in 1955 from Ville Platte High School. He retired from Diamond Offshore Drilling after 42 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for 12 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen Angels Catholic Church where served as an usher for many years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cassie Sonnier Deville, of Opelousas, LA his sons, Randy Deville and fianc, Gina Paisley, of Opelousas, LA Mark Deville and fianc, Celeste, of Napoleonville, LA his daughter, Lisa Ann Deville of Opelousas, LA his brother, Pershing Jack Deville and wife, Azelma, of Ville Platte, LA his sisters, Emma Jane Fontenot of Ville Platte, LA and Barbara Adams and husband, Elton, of Lafayette, LA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Julie Nicole Deville of Opelousas, LA Michael Bertrand of Ville Platte, LA Samantha Deville of New Orleans, LA and Jessica Deville of Baton Rouge, LA and six greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Douglas Deville his parents, Jamie and Anges Manuel Deville his sister, Belle Fontenot and one greatgrandson.

Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, September 4, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
