Winnie Terracina

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial for Madeleine "Winnie" Terracina, the former Madeleine Wiena Andrepont, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Rite of Committal will be held in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum. The Reverend Gregory Simien will celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Terracina, age 89, a native of Richard, LA and a resident of Opelousas, LA died on Saturday, April 2, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Ladie's Altar Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 2483 and Bona Fidem Italian Auxiliary and held various officer positions in these organizations.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, fishing, crawfishing, bingo and trips to the casino. Winnie was most well known for her hospitality to all family and friends. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.

She is survived by her children, Gordon F. Terracina and wife, Charlene, of Sunset, LA; Stephen J. Terracina of Belleview, FL, and Madeline Terracina LeBlanc and husband, Wayne, of Lafayette, LA; her brothers, Burton and Berchman Andrepont both of Richard, LA; her sister, Margaret Andrepont Simon of Amelia, OH; her brother-in-law, Rayford Fontenot; five grandchildren, Nicole Gregory and her husband, Jimmy; Jamie Tarpley and wife, Jessica; Mandy Hoffpauir and husband, Dustin; Benjamin Terracina and wife, Ji; Courtney LeBlanc, Ashly Delahoussaye and husband, Patrick and her great-grandchildren, Brooke, Gracie, Blake, Demi and Kristin Gregory; Gavin and Erin Hoffpauir and Jacob and Jensie Tarpley.

Winnie is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Terracina, Jr.; parents, Bernard and Lorena LeBleu Andrepont; her brother, Burlick Andrepont and her sister, Gloria Fontenot.

The family invites guests to visit beginning on Monday, April 4, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a 6:00 p.m. Rosary by Deacon Sammy Diesi. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until a 10:00 a.m. Rosary by the Our Lady of Mercy Ladie's Altar Society and will continue until service time at 1:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Tarpley, Dustin Hoffpauir, Tony Andrepont, Lucas Terracina, Timothy Andrepont and Donna Sutor. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Gregory and all of Winnie's grandchildren and great grandchildren.
