Winfield Leblanc, Sr.

For I considered that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Funeral services for Winfield Joseph LeBlanc will be Friday May 30, 2008 at 11:00am in the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Melville. The interment to follow in the Baptist Cemetery in Melville. Fr. James Nguyen will conduct the services. Mr. LeBlanc, age 71, a resident of Baton Rouge died Tuesday at 7:00am at his residence following a brief, but courageous battle with ALS. He was born December 7, 1936 in Labarre , La. He was a loving husband and father,Veteran of the U.S. Army., a graduate of the Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and also had a life long love of animals - especially his beloved dogs. Those wishing to memorialize Winfield are encouraged to make a donation in his memory to the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society of Baton Rouge. Survivors include his wife; Linda LeBlanc of Baton Rouge , sons; Winfield Joseph LeBlanc, Jr. Philip Patrick and wife Amanda LeBlanc and Benjamin Keith and wife Shawn LeBlanc all of Baton Rouge, sisters; Lorraine and husband Irving Landry, JoAnn and husband Clayton Melancon and Iris and husband Louis LaBuryere, brothers; Milton and his late wife Ollie Mae LeBlanc, Gesner LeBlanc, III and wife Betty, Lee Roy LeBlanc, Gerald LeBlanc and wife Shirley and Scuddy LeBlanc and wife Lees, one grandchild; Logan Dennis LeBlanc and Mason Poindexter. Preceded in death by his parents; Gesner Joseph, Jr. and Josephine Marie LeBlanc and by his father and mother in law; Harvey L. and Edna S. Phillips. Pallbearers will be Winfield LeBlanc, Jr., Philip LeBlanc, Keith LeBlanc, Gerald LeBlanc Scuddy LeBlanc and Michael Dupre. Honorary pallbearers will be Gesner LeBlanc, Milton LeBlanc and Lee Roy LeBlanc. Visitation will be at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville , La. on Thursday from 4:00pm until 9:00pm and Friday from 8:00am until time of services.
