Wilson Primeaux

A Mass of Christian Burial for Wilson Isaac Primeaux, age 83, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. The Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen will celebrate the Mass.

Wilson Primeaux, a native of Lyons Point and a resident of Opelousas, died on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Primeaux was a veteran of the United States Army, after which he worked and retired from Mobile Oil Company The Superior Oil Company. Wilson enjoyed fishing, shrimping and he was excellent at barbecuing. He was a dedicated and loving family man whose family meant the world to him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Rita Matte Primeaux of Opelousas son, James Primeaux of Opelousas daughters, Wanita Primeaux Buteau of Lafayette, Ralanea Primeaux of New Orleans, and Deirdre Primeaux of Lafayette brothers, Raliegh Primeaux of Baytown, TX and Alvin Primeaux and his wife Frances of Lyons Point sister Virgene Primeaux Comeaux of Lafayette grandchildren, Hailey Buteau and Dylan Buteau both of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Azena Theriot Primeaux and brothers Harrison and Huey Primeaux.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Monday, January 16, 2012 from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
