Opelousas Funeral services for Willie Homer Taylor, age 78, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2010 in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park. The Reverend Benny Reppond, Pastor of the Christian Life Center will conduct the services.
Homer Taylor was a husband, a dad, a son, a grandfather and a wonderful friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, was a member of the American Legion Post 45 and he worked as an oilfield electrician.
He was a native of Eunice and a resident of Opelousas and died on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the Opelousas General Health System.
Survivors include his wife Rachel Hunter Taylor of Opelousas son, Willie H. Buddy Taylor, Jr. and wife Gwen of Opelousas daughters, Dale Wilson and husband Martin of Lafayette, Donna Hebert of Port Allen, and Denise Taylor of Thibodaux two grandchildren, Blaine Taylor of Lafayette and Brant Taylor and wife Leslie of Eunice.
Preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Emily Fontenot Taylor and a son Ewell Menard.
Visitation will begin on Friday, July 23, 2010 from 3:00 9:00 p.m. in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas and will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
