William Dejean

A Mass of Christian Burial for William Clay Chip DeJean will be held on Monday July 25, 2011 at 2:00pm at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. The interment will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park. Father Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. DeJean, age 68 a resident of Church Point died Friday July 22, 2011 at his residence.
He worked as a residential and commercial construction worker in New Orleans and in Hammond and also worked at St. Landry Parish School Board and Evangeline Downs and was Co Owner of Donuts Galore. He was a member of the St. Bridget Catholic Church and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Bridget and St. Landry Catholic Churches and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and watching movies. He belonged to the Kappa Alpha Fraternity at USL.

Survivors include his wife Jeannette LeBlanc DeJean of Church Point, daughter Christine carol Guidroz of Lawtell, brothers Robert Bob F. DeJean of Baton Rouge and BroderickRik Charles DeJean of Opelousas, sister Sherri Lynne DeJean Alario and husband Richard Dick Alario of Houston, three grandchildren Jessica E. Stelly, Heather Stelly and William Christopher Doucet and three great grandchildren William Camron LeBlanc, Nathan Nicholas LeBlanc and Bentley Christopher Stelly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Judge Robert F. DeJean and Loretta Letty R. DeJean and grandparents William C. and Virginia St. Cyr DeJean and Evariste Robert and Marie Amelie Halbert Richard

The family has requested visitation be held on Sunday July 24, 2011 from 4:00pm until 9:30pm and will reopen on Monday at 8:00am until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:00pm.

Pallbearers will be Christopher W. Doucet, Patrick DeJean, Robert F. DeJean, Richard Dick Alario, Tyler DeJean and Edward Eddie DeJean. The Gift bearers will be W. Camron LeBlanc, Nathan N. LeBlanc and Joseph Kenneth LeBlanc, Jr. and the Readers will be Christine Guidroz and Heather Stelly. Musical selections will be performed by Mona Prejean.
