Funeral services will be held for William "Bill" Bryson at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 9, 2018, at the Methodist Church in Krotz Springs, LA. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony Church Mausoleum in Krotz Springs, LA. Reverend Laurie Raborn will conduct the service.
Musical selections will be performed by Alan and Warren Snyder, Gordy Reed and his granddaughters, Sherry Reed, Kate Guillot and Nichole Hatten.
Mr. Bill, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Bill proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He was a farmer all of his life. Not only was it his profession, but it was his hobby. He enjoyed working his crops, cattle and horses. Bill served his community as a Krotz Springs Alderman for 20 years. He loved family trips, family gatherings and Sunday dinners. He also loved reading and tending to his garden. Bill was an avid LSU football fan and enjoyed watching them except when they played Ole Miss. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Grace Bennett Bryson; his son, David John Bryson and wife, Nina; his daughters, Karen Bryson Reed; Gwen Bryson Hatten and husband, David; Myra Bryson Plaisance and husband, Ricky; Syndia Bryson Guillot and husband, Marlin; Elizabeth Bryson Mixon and husband, Sammy and his sister, Margaret Smith Bruhl. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henderson Bryson and Carrie Etta Hudnall; his step-father, Alfred V. Smith; his brother, Allie Smith; his sister, Sara Bryson Nash; his son-in-law, Raymond Reed.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Reed, Aaron Hatten, Kyle Plaisance, Brennen Plaisance, Zachary Guillot, Cy Bryson and Kade Mistric.
Visiting will be held in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs beginning on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. The funeral home will reopen on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 8:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.
