Wilbern Meche

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Wilbern "Buck" Charles Meche at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Reverend Jared Suire will conduct the funeral service. Interment will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA.

Mr. Meche, age 71, a resident of Opelousas, LA died on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Mr. Meche served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and worked as a technical sergeant for 23 years. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Eugenia Meche, of the Philippines; his daughter, Gina Cruse and husband, Scott, of Washington state and his sister, Alice Sylvester, of Opelousas, LA. He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren Dillan and Callissa Cruse of Washington state.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Narcise Meche and Delphine Stelly Meche; his brother, Leroy Meche; his brother-in-law, Ernest Sylvester and his Godchild, Leroy Meche, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Greg Sylvester, Daren Sylvester, Timmy Thomassee and Nelson Hicks.

Visitation will be held at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Thursday, July 9, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
