Wesley Wyble

Wesley L. Wyble, 67, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022, at his residence in Lebeau.

Morrow - The funeral service will be held for Wesley L. Wyble at 10:00 a.m. Friday April 15, 2022, at St. Peter‘s Catholic Church in Morrow, LA. Rev. Fr. Donavon Labbe will celebrate the church service. Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at St. Catherine‘s Cemetery in Rosa.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. On Friday visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Wesley was the first baby born on January 1, 1955, in Opelousas. He and his mother, Ledie G. Wyble, received numerous gifts as well as publicity in the Daily World newspaper. After attending Morrow High and serving in the U.S. Army, he began a career working on off-shore drilling rigs, as well as farming in the Lebeau area. During this period he also spent some of his free time doing carpenter and yard work. He also loved to jump on his “Zero-Turn” mower and cut grass all day. He also served as the principal care-taken for his mother.

Wesley is survived by his seven siblings, Helen Peyton and husband Ellis of Rosa; Janette Miller and husband Bradley of Palmetto; Geneva Cormier and husband Leston of Bayou Jacque; Sandra Barker and husband Russell of Melville; Tee Shelton and husband Kenneth of Denham Springs; James Wyble and wife Theresa of Lebeau; and Gary Wyble and wife Genie of Denham Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest G. Wyble and Ledie Wyble Marks.

Pallbearers will be Christian Candies, Jeremy Zeigler, Weston “Bubba” Cormier, Mike Cormier, Phillip Cormier, and Paul Cormier.
