Walter Ryder, Sr.

Services for Walter C. Ryder, Sr., age 77, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home in Melville, La., and followed by interment in the Melville Baptist Cemetery. Brother Ray Majors will conduct the service.

Mr. Ryder, a resident of Melville, La., died on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at his daughters residence in Melville.

Mr. Ryder was a member of the Ironworkers Local 623. He also worked for Mosler Safe Company as a safe and bank equipment installer for 30 years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his sons, Walter Bubby C. Ryder, Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Melville, La. Donny Ryder and wife, Dolores, of Fordoche, La. Jason Ryder and fianc, Mary, of Melville, La. T.J. Ryder of Melville, La. his daughters, Jessica Landry and husband, Carl, of Melville, La. Jackie Ryder Deakle and husband, Terry, of New Iberia, La. Sandra Ryder and companion Donald Savant of Melville, La. his brother, Wayne Ryder and wife, Julie, of Port Barre, La. and his sister, Linda Byrd of Lawtell, La. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, Melissa Circello Tricia Futch, Amanda Futch, Dody Ryder, Joey Ryder, Tyra Taylor, Shantel Vidrine, Paul Marcotte, Chris Marcotte, Skylar Deakle, Bambi Polotzola, Alicia Ryder, Tony Ryder, Katie McCormick, Brittany Ryder, Tiffany Ryder, Lacy Ryder, Jace Landry, Nichol Kilcrease and Ashley Kilcrease and also 28 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay Ryder his parents, Whitney and Ella Conrad Ryder and his two children, Kevin Kilcrease and Stuart Ryder.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Melville, beginning on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. until service time.
