Wallace Lacombe

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Wallace Joseph LaCombe at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Paul Bienvenu will be the Celebrant of the Mass.

Mr. LaCombe, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, age 78, died on Monday, November 11, 2013, at his residence.

Wallace served his country, for a short period of time, in the United States Army. He was a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, LA. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Norma Richard LaCombe, of Baton Rouge, LA his son, Brad Matthew LaCombe and wife, JoAnn, of Brandon, Mississippi his daughter, Lori LaCombe Jarreau, of St. Francisville, LA his sisters, Rita Viator and husband, Johnny, of Lafayette, LA Gloria Stelly of Port Barre, LA Audry Cummings and husband, Kenneth, of Opelousas, LA Linda McCormick and husband, Karl, of Carencro, LA and JoAnn Franchebois and husband, Leo, of Opelousas, LA. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Britt Roussel, Jr., Brandon Roussel, Devin LaCombe, Seth LaCombe, Caleb LaCombe, Meghan Jarreau and 1 greatgrandchild, Carson Riley LaCombe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel LaCombe and his brothers, Walter LaCombe, James LaCombe and Russell LaCombe.

Visiting will begin at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice of Baton Rouge and Cancer Services of Baton Rouge for the compassion and care they gave to Wallace.
