Virginia Bertrand

Prairie Ronde - Funeral services for Virginia Boone Bertrand will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016, at the Prairie Ronde Baptist Church. Reverend David Fultz will conduct the funeral service. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.

Visiting will begin on Sunday, February 21, 2016, in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Monday at the Prairie Ronde Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Sean Bertrand, Chad Bertrand, Donnie Stewart, Aaron Lowe.

Mrs. Bertrand, age 82, who was a native of Prairie Ronde, LA, died on Friday, February 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

She enjoyed spending time her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and shopping with her sitters/caretakers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Lenard Bertrand and wife, Priscilla, of Opelousas, LA; Blaine Bertrand of Opelousas, LA; her brother, Adrian Boone and her sisters, Victoria Pitre and Velma Ledoux. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, McGuffy Bertrand; her daughter, Denise Ann Bertrand; her parents, Henry and Amy LeJeune Boone; her brothers, Gustin Boone, Henry Boone, Hilden Boone, L.G. Boone, James Boone and her sisters, Wilma Soileau, Mary Boone, Ella Bertrand, Eva Mae Boone Daville and Ruby Granger.
