Private Funeral services for Vickie Vasseur Arceneaux Granger were held on Friday, April 12, 2019, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel of LaFond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Rite of Committal and interment followed in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA. Rev. Fr. Austin Leger conducted the services.
Vickie, age 54, was a native of Eunice, LA, and died on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at her residence in Opelousas, LA. She was a cashier at The Quarters Casino in Opelousas. She loved spending time in her yard caring, planting, and tending to her plants. Her heart was her family especially her grandchildren. She loved to dance and it didn't matter what music was playing. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include daughter, Lacey Arceneaux Wheeler and husband, James "J.R." Wheeler ; son, Cody Arceneaux; stepfather, Mervin Savoy; three brothers, Ferlin Vasseur, Adrian Vasseur III, and Jerald Vasseur; two sisters, Cathy Savoy and husband, Gervais "Duck" Savoy; and Donna Brisco; and four grandchildren, Dominick Wheeler, Maison Arceneaux, Eden Wheeler, and Natalie Arceneaux.
She was preceded in death by Adrian Vasseur, Jr. and Norma Briscoe Savoy; and her first husband, Dominick "Nicky" Arceneaux.
Pallbearers were Dylan Vasseur, Gauge Briscoe, Chris Courville, Galen Briscoe, Dwaine and Quentin Vasseur.
Private visitation was held in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in LaFond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, April 12, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Rosary service was held at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
