Veronica Ray

Lewisburg - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Veronica Richard Ray, age 77, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at the St. John Mission Chapel in Lewisburg, LA. Monsignor Jeff DeBlanc will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will take place at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Ray, a resident of Lewsiburg, LA, died on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at North Oaks Health System in Hammond, LA.

Mrs. Ray was a volunteer for the Lafayette St. Jude Dream Home fundraiser. She was also a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her son, Charles Ray, Jr. and wife, Stella, of Ponchatoula, LA; her daughter, Gina Ray Millett and husband, Donnie, of Pearland, TX; her sister, Cheryl R. Labbe and husband, Robert, of Cypress, TX and her grandson, Ben Arnona of Ponchatoula, LA. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bernard Ray, Sr.; her parents, Alric and Agatha Daigle Richard; her brother, Gordon Richard and her sister, Margie Richard Arceneaux.

Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Jude Shrine, 411 N. Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA 70112.
