Vernon Fisher, Jr.

Washington - Funeral services will be held for Vernon "Peck" Fisher, Jr., age 45, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. A rosary will be held prior to the service at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the funeral service.

Mr. Fisher, a resident of Washington, LA, died on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at his residence.

Vernon served his country proudly, for a short time, in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, friends and especially enjoyed being with his dogs, Gabby and Pooh. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his parents, Vernon and Mathilda Seaux Fisher, of Plaisance, LA; his brother, Michael Wayne Schexnayder and his wife, Susan, of Denver, Colorado and his sisters, Angela Jessie Doucet and fiancé, Shawn Begnaud, of Arnaudville, LA and Linda Gale Meche and her husband, Chris, of Carencro, LA. He is also survived by two nieces, three nephews and two great-nieces and one great-nephew.

Pallbearers will be Todd Breaux, Blake Sebastien, Seth Doucet, Tristin Meche, Michael Wayne Schexnayder and Matt Stevens.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
