Vernice Soileau

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Vernice Doucet Soileau, age 92, at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at The Chapel of the Resurrection Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Michael Guidry will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will take place at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Soileau, a native of Whiteville, LA, died Friday, June 24, 2016 at Senior Village Nursing Home.

Vernice loved to cook for her family and friends and was well known in the community for her cinnamon rolls. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph N. Soileau and wife, Ann; Paul G. Soileau and wife, Shirley; Michael J. Soileau and her step-daughter, Diane Courville and husband, Adam. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Steve Soileau and wife, Angie; Darlene Lattimore; Paul Soileau and wife, Debbie; Randy Soileau and wife, Malinda; her step-granddaughter, Julia Lejeune; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Addison, Emily Soileau, Lindsay Soileau, Joseph Soileau and Mallie Wentsky and her special grand-dog, Fifi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Soileau; her parents, Bernard and Agnace Doucet; her granddaughter's husband, Burt Lattimore and her seven siblings.
