Vernice Darbonne

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Vernice F. Darbonne, age 90, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, followed by interment in the St. Bridget Cemetery in Lawtell. The Reverend Angelo Cremaldi will be the celebrant.

Mrs. Darbonne, who was a native of Church Point, a former resident of Opelousas and resident of Patterson, LA, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in Morgan City.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Darbonne and wife Mickie of Berwick, LA and Isaac Ike Darbonne, Jr. and wife Carol of Bayou Vista two daughters, Mary Alice D. Eddy and husband Earl of Baton Rouge and Lydia D. Eleser of Atlanta, GA two brothers, Linus Cortez and wife Norma of Opelousas and Adler Jagneaux of Carencro sister Nita Kessinger 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Isaac Darbonne, Sr. parents, Jasper Fontenot and Estella L. Jagneaux a son Jasper Darbonne a grandson, Tommy Joseph Eddy a brother, Berchman Jagneaux two sisters, Bernice Fontenot and Ethel Woodson.

Mrs. Darbonnes pallbears will be her sons and grandsons.

Visiting will be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas on Saturday, February 13, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m.
