Verline Lafleur

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Verline Carriere Lafleur, age 75, will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church of Opelousas, La., followed by interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, La. The Reverend Paul Bienvenu will be the celebrant of the mass.

Verline, a native of Kaplan, La. and former resident of Harvey, La., passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the Vermillion Healthcare Center in Nunez, La.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge. She was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Primeaux and husband, Kenneth, of Kaplan, La. her brother, Herman Carriere of Marrero, La. her sisters, Anna Laura Deville of Gramercy, La. Roberta Guillory of Pine Prairie, La. and Lee Esther Webb of Gramercy, La. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Kenneth Primeaux, Jr. and wife, Nicki Aimee Monaghan and husband, Timothy Adam Primeaux and two greatgrandchildren, Lane Martin Primeaux and Benjamin Josiah Monaghan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Louis Lafleur, Sr. her parents, Laurent and Cecelia Opry Carriere her son, Robert Bobby Lafleur, Jr. one sister, Ethel Wyble and three brothers, Wilbert, Wilbur and Willrey Carriere.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, November 22, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Monday
