Verline Fontenot

Funeral services for Mrs. Verline Fontenot will be held at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 10:00AM. Msgr. Robert Romero will conduct the services. The interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.

Mrs. Fontenot, 84, died June 5, 2007 at 8:40PM at Opelousas General Hospital. She was a Foster Parent for about 40 years. She was a native of Mamou and a resident of Opelousas.

She is survived by 2 sons; Joseph Fontenot and his wife Sharon of Opelousas and James Fontenot and his wife Priscilla of Ville Platte, 2 daughters; Tina Burnett and her husband Ricky of Rose Pine and Rebecca Bellard of Ville Platte, 3 brothers; John Pierre Fontenot of Eunice, Gerald James Fontenot of Mamou and Fred Joseph Fontenot of St. Amant and 6 sisters; Anna Bell Vasseur of Ville Platte, Mary Guillory of Mamou, Lou Ella Fontenot of Elizabeth, Juanita Ardoin of Eunice, Velma Johnson of Mamou and Willie Seal of Elizabeth. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Tolan McCauley and her second husband Curley Coyo Fontenot, her parents; Johnnie and Iza Veillon Fontenot, sisters; Drusella Aucoin and Barbara Brewster and a brother; Harrison Fontenot.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM and Thursday from 8:00AM until time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM Wednesday, June 6, 2007.
