Vera Mills

alignjustifyFuneral services for Vera Guidry Mills will be held Monday December 31, 2007 at 10:30am in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home. Fr. Jerry Measley will conduct the services. The interment will be in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Mills, Craig Mills, Doyle Mills, Todd Bergeron, Jason Peck, Shawn Quebedeaux and James B. Tee J Mills, II. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Farren, Skylar Farren and Trevor Farren.

Mrs. Mills, age 86 a resident of Opelousas died Friday December 28, 2007 at Doctors Hospital of Opelousas. She was a retired Nurses Aid at Opelousas General Hospital and also a mom to 10 children.

Survivors include her sons; Ronald Mills and wife Annette of Opelousas, James JB Mills and wife Tara of Sunset and Russell Mills of Sunset, daughters; Pat Hebert and husband J.L. of Opelousas, Barbara Bergeron and husband Jimmy of Opelousas, Shirley Quebedeaux and husband Larry of Opelousas, Joyce Breaux and husband Andy of Lafayette, Dolores Clark and husband Lawrence of Sulphur and Alice Mills of Montery, CA., 26 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Russell E. Guidry and Lillian Tatman Guidry, husband; Thomas B. Mills, son; Joseph W. Mills, sister; Ruth Pizzolatto and a brother; Robert Guidry.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 10:00am until 10:00pm and on Monday from 8:00am until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:30pm.

Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on the Old Sunset Hwy. is in charge of the arrangements.
