Velma Barker

Melville Funeral services for Velma Brown Barker, age 67, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville followed by interment in the Baptist Cemetery in Melville. The Reverend Rocky Warden will conduct the services.

Mrs. Barker died on Tuesday, October 11, 2009 at 6:10 a.m. at her residence.

She is survived by her three sons, John R. Barker of Clinton, LA, John L. Barker, Jr. of Erwinville, and Adonis A. Barker of Henderson; two daughters, Tisha M. Kimble and husband Troy of Krotz Springs and Glenda Landry of Erwinville; two brothers, Joseph Brown of Melville and James Brown of Alexandria; 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mr John L.S. Barker, Sr. and two sisters, Wanda Penny and Jeanette Buckner.

Visitation and services will be held in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
