Vashonda Hebert

Funeral services for Vashonda Vasseur Hebert will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 20, 2018, in the Skip Montet Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Burial will take place in the Prairie Ronde Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Perry Hubbs will conduct the service.

Mrs. Hebert, age 42, a resident of Eunice, LA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

Vashonda loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling and especially their trips to the mountains in Tennessee. She was always ready for an adventure with her husband and girls.

She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Opelousas until she was unable to attend. She loved her Sunday school class there and treasured the friendships she made in that class.

Vashonda lived life to the fullest. She looked cancer in the eyes with a fierceness. She fought a long, hard battle and ultimately won the war when she gained her Heavenly home.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

She is survived by husband of 3 years, Scottie Hebert, of Eunice; her parents, Ronald and Geraldine Vasseur of Prairie Ronde; her daughters, Jillian Lafleur and Alayna Hebert of Eunice; her step-son, Brandon Perrin of Erath; her sister, Sonja Bertrand and husband, Marshall of Opelousas and her Godchildren, Patrick Lanclos of Prairie Ronde and Hannah Lanclos of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Reverend and Mrs. Tuman Granger; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Vasseur; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Howard Hebert.

Visitation will be held in the Skip Montet Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, July 19, 2018, from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM. The funeral home will reopen on Friday, July 20, 2018, at 8:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Perrin, Marshall Bertrand, Joseph Blaine Lafleur, Patrick Lanclos, Brian Granger and Charles Lejeune.
