Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Trisha Olivier Benoit, age 49, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas LA. Reverend Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Prairie Ronde.

Mrs. Benoit, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Friday, September 2, 2016 at her residence.

Trisha enjoyed creating artistic and creative photos which she loved sending to her friends and family members. She truly loved giving to others. Trisha loved listening to Cajun and country music and loved watching New Orleans Saints and LSU football. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 5 years, Alfred L. "Bubba" Benoit, Jr. of Opelousas, LA; her mother, Ms. Lena Ledoux Olivier of Opelousas, LA; her mother-in-law, Margaret Benoit, of Opelousas, LA; her stepson, Beau Hunter Benoit, of Opelousas, LA; her stepdaughters, Rachael R. Tresner and husband, Jarett, of Opelousas, LA; Kristie Lynn Benoit of Opelousas, LA; her brother, Dale Olivier and companion, Laura Burleigh, of Port Barre, LA; her sister, Cheryl Olivier of Opelousas, LA; her sister-in-law, Meg B. Fontenot and husband, Shaine, of Leonville, LA and her brother-in-law, Dwain Benoit and wife, Stephanie, of Opelousas, LA. She is also survived by her nephew and Godchild, Colby Marks and wife, Youlawn, of Morrow, LA; her Godchild, Analeigh Marks; her best friend/sister, Heather Quirk and companion, Don Savoy; her Godmother, Melda Wyble; her cousins, Peggy Norris, Nola Speece, Cory Laster, Kim Laster, Joey Laster and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gelton Olivier; her grandparents, Clement and Josephine Brasseaux Olivier and Clifford and Lillian Deville Ledoux; her father-in-law, Alfred L. Benoit, Sr.; her sister-in-law, Dwauna M. Benoit and her Aunt Roma Nell Ledoux.

Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed by Rev. Austin Leger at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Dale Olivier, Colby Marks, Caden Jacob Journet, Jerett Tresner, Corey Laster and Jamin Artigue. Honorary pallbearer will be her husband, Alfred L. "Bubba" Benoit, Jr.
