Trina Kirkpatrick

Opelousas - Private Funeral Services for Trina Suzette Kirkpatrick were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020, in the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas.  Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington officiated the services. Rite of Committal followed at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Trina was a native and longtime resident of Opelousas.  She passed away on November 20, 2020, at the Opelousas General Health System, at the age of 61.  She received her word processing diploma from T. H. Harris and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from USL.  She worked in the nursery at LHC healthclub and at the Opelousas City Court.  She was a caregiver with a loving heart for many years.

She is survived by her mother, Sue Richard Kirkpatrick; brother, Kris Kirkpatrick; and sisters, Trish Kirkpatrick and Terri Kirkpatrick; aunt, Mary Francis G. Richard; and her nieces and nephews: Jordyn Kirkpatrick, Landon Kirkpatrick, Derrick Carriere II, Angelique Kirkpatrick, Aleshia Luckadoo, Krisi Carriere Moran (Ricky), Johnny Carriere (Kelli); great nieces and nephews: Carsyn, Connoly, Carlyle, Johnny III, Sebby, Addie, Caroline, Derrick II, Eli, Aiden, Lincoln, Ayva, Drew and Wiley.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Ervin Kirkpatrick, Jr.; sister, Tracie K. Carriere; brother, Gilbert Ervin “Kirk” Kirkpatrick III; aunts, Claudette Richard and Marlene Richard; uncle, Benny Richard; paternal grandparents, Gilbert Ervin Kirkpatrick, Sr. and Mary Kirkpatrick; and Lee J. Guidry and Bernice D. Guidry; maternal grandparents, Benjamin L. Richard and Frances B. Richard; and niece, Jade Kirkpatrick.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 28, 2020, from 9:00 a.m.– 10:00 a.m. at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.

Pallbearers were Kris Kirkpatrick, Briar Richard, Ricky Moran, Derrick Carriere, Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Carriere, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to send memorial contributions in Trina's honor to the Opelousas Little Theater or to the American Cancer Society.
