Timothy Pitre

Opelousas Funeral services for Timothy Craig Pitre, age 38, will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. in the Gum Point Church in Branch, La., followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Reverend Wayland Vincent will conduct the services.

Mr. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

Craig had been previously employed as the Parts Manager at Courvelle Toyota in Opelousas. He loved hunting, fishing and shooting pool. He loved being outdoors and nature. Craig was friendly and always had a smile for everyone. Because of his love of life, Craig was an organ donor. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by sons, Jarryd Pitre and Dylan Pitre of Opelousas, La.; his mother, Emily Courvelle Sylvester and her husband, Nick, of Opelousas, La.; his father, Norris Pitre of Washington, La.; his brother, Chad Pitre of Opelousas, La. and one step-sister, Amanda Sylvester of Carencro, La. He is also survived by his grandmother, Maryina Mrs. A.B. Courvelle.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, A.B. Courvelle, Sr. and his paternal grandparents, Nolan and Lois Mae Pitre.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, November 2, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Gum Point Church in Branch, La. until time of service.
