Thomas Whittington

Thomas Whittington, a lifelong resident of Melville, Louisiana, passed away on December 1, 2023. He was born on November 17, 1938 in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Throughout his life, Thomas excelled in his career as a welder and retired from Roy O. Martin as a forester. 

Prior to his career, Thomas was a graduate of Melville High School and then served his country with honor and pride in the Navy.

Outside of work and service to his country, Thomas found joy in hunting and fishing. Above all else, he cherished his family with all his heart, especially his grandsons. Spending time with them brought him immense happiness and fulfilled him in ways that words could hardly describe.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia "Ginger" Whittington; his two sons, Eric Whittington and his wife, Sonja and Doug Whittington; his grandsons, Alex Whittington, Bryce Whittington, and Gavin Whittington; his granddaughters Keely Madison Ardoin.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Maddie Whittington McGowan and step-father, Claude McGowan.
