Melville - Funeral services will be held for Thomas Grant at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Melville. The Reverend Chad Bolfa, of the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs, will conduct the funeral service. Interment will be held at the First Baptist Cemetery in Melville.
Mr. Grant, age 73, was a native of Florida, a longtime resident of New Orleans and a current resident of Baton Rouge, LA, died on Monday, February 2, 2015, at his daughter's residence in Baton Rouge, LA.
Thomas served his country proudly in the United States Army. He retired with North Folk Southern Railroad after many years of service. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Florecia C. Langford, of Fort Myers, FL; his son, Joseph W. Grant and wife, Tammy, of Denham Springs, LA; Pamela G. Landry and husband, David, of Baton Rouge, LA; Thomasina L. Grant of Baton Rouge, LA and his sisters, Rebecca Ann Mathis and Celia E. Hutson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Worth Grant and his brother, Joseph Worth Grant.
Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville on Saturday, February 7, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
