Theresa Lalonde

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Theresa Tessie Lalonde, age 76, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, La., followed by interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, La. The Reverend Albert Nunez will conduct the Mass.

Tessie, a resident of Washington, La., died on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, La.

She enjoyed playing cards and going to the local casinos. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Byron J. Lalonde and wife, Mary, of Opelousas, La. her daughters, Darlene Lalonde of Washington, La. and her fianc, Charles Bordelon, of Hessmer, La. Vicki Thibodeaux and husband, Robert, of Washington, La. and her sister, Icy McCauley of Sulphur, La. She is also survived by 2 grandsons, John Robert Thibodeaux, II and Michael Joseph Lalonde.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Charles Coonie Lalonde her parents, Caro and Viv Fontenot her brother, Jim Caro Fontenot and her two sisters, Maydel Chiasson and Ethel Grimmett.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Friday, March 2, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
