Thelma Swilley

Opelousas - A visitation and memorial service for Thelma Swilley, age 61, will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Parlor in Opelousas.

Thelma Swilley, a native of Valdosta, Georgia and resident of Krotz Springs, died at 5:17 a.m. on July 5, 2008 at the Opelousas General Health Systems.

Thelma is survived by her husband, James Swilley; three sons, James Ralph Swilley of Denham Springs, La.; Michael Lee Swilley and his wife, Kelly, of Rougon, La.; Kevin Ryan Swilley and his wife, Keri, of Denham Springs, La.; two daughters, Stephanie Turner and her husband, Kevin, of Krotz Springs, La. and Polly Swilley of Plaquemine, La. She is also survived by her brothers, Ray Whiddon of Baton Rouge, La. and William Whiddon of Baton Rouge, La. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren.

Thelma was preceded in death by Josh and Sean Dixon; her parents, Joe and Christine Turner Whiddon; her brother, David Whiddon and her daughter, Sherri Marie Dixon.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Parlor of Opelousas on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
