Thelma Istre

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Thelma Aucoin Istre will be held on Friday February 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. The interment will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park. Rev. Paul Bienvenu will celebrate the mass.

Thelma, age 84 a resident of Crowley and former resident of Opelousas died Wednesday February 9, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

She was a retired clerk from Howard Bros.

Survivors include her husband, L.J. Istre, of Crowley, La. sons, John Earl Aucoin of Opelousas, La. Lonnie Aucoin and wife, Deborah D. Aucoin, of Lafayette, La. daughter, Bernadine Hargroder of Opelousas, La. sisters Lucy Lavergne of Opelousas, La. and Earline Duos of Nuba, La. her soninlaw, Richard Guillory and 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her first husband, Cleo Aucoin her parents, Clarence and Annie Prudhomme Bibb her son, James Ivan Aucoin her daughter, Brenda Aucoin Guillory her brothers, Thomas Gene Bibb, Clarence Bibb, Jr. and her sisters, Anna Lou Savoie and Evelyn Guidry.

Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.
