Thelma Guidry

A Mass of Christian Burial for Thelma A. Guidry will be held on Thursday May30, 2013 at 12:00pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. Rite of Committal will be at St. Anthony Catholic Mausoleum. Father Chanh Nguyen will be the celebrant.

Mrs. Guidry, age 89, a resident of Krotz Springs, died Monday May 27, 2013 at her residence. She was the Owner and operator of Settlers Restaurant in Krotz Springs. She belonged to the St. Anthonys Alter Ladies Society. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons Thomas N. Guidry, Sr. and wife Gaynell of Krotz Springs and James E. Guidry, Sr. and wife Ella of Krotz Springs, daughters Diane Guidry Halphen and husband Scott of Krotz Springs and Geraldine Guidry Spedale of Baton Rouge, sisters Mildrid Primm of Pride and Jeanette Higdon and husband Leon of Krotz Springs, 12 grandchildren Steve Campbell, Mike Spedale, Chuck Spedale, Kim Miley, Neil Guidry, Jr., Nicole Lavergne, Timothy Guidry, James E. J Guidry, Jr., Lezette Vienne, Crystal Babineaux, Sandi Babineaux and David Halphen.

She was preceded in death by her husband 61 years, Sidney T. Guidry, son Sidney R. Guidry, son in law Charles Spedale, her father Pierre E. Arceneaux, Sr., her mother Meline Jeansomme Arceneaux, brother Pierre E. Arceneaux, Jr., brother James Arceneaux, grandsons, Andy Halphen and Tristen Latiolais.

Pallbearers will be Neil Guidry, Matt Guidry, Scotty Ray, J Guidry, Steve Campbell, Kade Ardoin and Tim Guidry.

Visitation will be on Wednesday May 29, 2013 from 4:00pm until 10:00pm and will be held at LafondArdoin Funeral Home and will reopen at 8:00am on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Wednesday evening.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice Compassus, especially Crystal Carrier and to her caregivers and the many family members who assisted in her care.
