Sybil Jean Comeaux

Krotz Springs - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Sybil Hutto Comeaux at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Krotz Springs.  Rev. Fr. Michael DeBlanc will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal and Burial will follow in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Krotz Springs.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs.  A Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening led by Rev. Fr. Michael DeBlanc.  On Thursday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home.

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Sybil Hutto Comeaux on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the age of 75, at her residence in Krotz Springs. She was a born in Texarkana, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Krotz Springs, LA.  Her Catholic faith was important to her and was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs.  She was a secretary for a construction company for many years until her retirement.  Then, she became a special “Granny” and helped take care of her grandchildren.  She enjoyed being outdoors while taking care of her plants, traveling, camping, and going on Senior bus trips.  She also enjoyed spending time with her friends in the community while attending the Krotz Springs Senior Socials and the TRIAD meetings.  She collected beer steins and hummingbird figurines.  She cherished her time with her family and loved being very supportive while attending their family events.  She especially loved her grandchildren and always attended their school plays, programs, and sports events. She had a special place in her heart for the Veterans and supported the local veterans. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind to cherish her legacy and will forever be remembered and missed by her husband of 56 years, Melvin J. Comeaux of Krotz Springs; two daughters, Connie Comeaux Johnston and husband, Bobby of Leonville; and Shila Comeaux Crow and husband, Karl of Krotz Springs; a special niece who was like a daughter, Richelle Lalonde Badeaux and husband, Brent of Port Barre; one brother, Jimmy Hutto and wife, Debbie of Opelousas; four grandchildren, Katie Johnston Meche and husband, Adam; Landon Johnston, Connor Crow, and Emma Crow; three extended grandchildren, Bryce Badeaux, Branton Badeaux and wife, Megan; and Bevan Badeaux; and two extended great-grandchildren, Kynleigh Badeaux and Brooklyn Badeaux.  She also has a host of nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law: Russell Comeaux and wife, Ginger of Camden, AK; Ella Rose Comeaux Guillory of Port Barre; Amy Comeaux Chautin and husband, John of Port Barre; and Carolyn Comeaux Johnson of Port Barre.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A.W.“Bill” Hutto and Ruby LaBauve Hutto; sister, Mary Alice Hutto Lalonde; nephew, Clint Lalonde; great-niece, Everly Grace Lalonde; father-in-law, Wilmer Comeaux; mother-in-law, Felician “Ann” Kidder Comeaux; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Wilbert Comeaux and wife, Janet; Judy Comeaux McDaniel and husband, Dan; Jimmy Guillory, Danny Johnson, and Kevin Comeaux.

Pallbearers will be Connor Crow, Landon Johnston, Toby Lalonde, Eric Hutto, Brent Badeaux, and Adam Meche.
