Sybil Boudreaux

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Sybil Soileau Boudreaux at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Monsignor Keith DeRouen will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mrs. Boudreaux, age 92, a resident of Opelousas, died on January 1, 2016 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving and caring family.

Mrs. Boudreaux graduated from the Sacred Heart Academy with a Bachelor's degree in Education. She was a school teacher at Lawtell Elementary and Church Point Elementary where she retired. Mrs. Boudreaux was a long time member of the Pink Ladies at Doctors Hospital and a volunteer member of The Council on Aging. She enjoyed going on cruises and traveling. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Al Christ Boudreaux and his wife, Laynette Guillory Boudreaux of Opelousas, LA; her granddaughter Angela Christine Boudreaux of Opelousas, LA; her grandson, Dr. Brad Alan Boudreaux and his wife, Kelly Campbell Boudreaux of Lafayette, LA and her two great grandchildren, Graye Brooks Boudreaux and Ava Grant Boudreaux.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilman John Boudreaux; her parents, Alex Soileau and Virginia Christ Soileau; her brother Aaron Soileau.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Dwayne Joubert at 6:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m.
