Suzanne Spaulding

Opelousas - A Memorial Service will be held for Suzanne Spaulding at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.  Deacon Ulysse Joubert will conduct the service.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Suzanne Spaulding, age 80, on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at her residence.

Suzanne was a 1959 graduate of Opelousas High School.  After graduating, she attended USL and began working for the St. Landry Parish School Board.  She was a proud member of the Opelousas Jaycees.  Suzanne was very opinionated, and you always knew where you stood with her.  She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed riding around town in her 1967 Ford Mustang.  She also enjoyed the outdoors, jogging, walking and playing softball in her younger days.  She loved traveling, watching movies and arts and crafts.  Suzanne will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived her brother, George Leon Spaulding and wife, Alma of California; and two nieces, Michelle Spaulding of Indiana; and Robyn Spaulding of California. She is also survived by a host of cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Isom Leon Spaulding and Rose Durio Spaulding.
