Sue Broussard

Basile, LA - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Sue Broussard at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015, in the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile, LA. Reverend David Hebert will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Broussard, age 73, a resident of Basile, LA and former resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

Sue worked in several managerial positions throughout her life. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling the country and abroad. The most important part of her life was her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Broussard, of Basile, LA; her sons, J.D. Gardner and wife, Katherine, of Carencro, LA; Danny R. Gardner of Brandon, MS; her daughter, Memrie Gardner of Brandon, MS; six step-children; her brothers, Malcom Gainey of Union, MS; Jimmy Gainey of Jackson, MS; her sisters, Wynette McBeath of Vicksburg, MS; Angela Knight of Meridian, MS; Debra Sylvester of Brandon, MS and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Danielle Gardner, Danny Gardner, Jr. and Brandon J. Gardner and host of step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Merle Gainey; her spouses Jacob E. Fa-Kouri and Jim Gardner.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Gardner, Jeff Harrison, Horace Darbonne, Greg Pigg, Brian Sistrunk and Barry Fontenot.

Visitation will be held at the Ardoin Funeral Home of Basile, 1210 South Ryan Street, Basile, LA 70515 on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
