Steven Wheat

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Steven Phillip Wheat at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Dr. Perry C. Hubbs will conduct the funeral service. Interment will be held at a later date.

Mr. Wheat, age 56, a resident of Opelousas, died on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at his residence.

Steven enjoyed fishing and working in his garden. Steven will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Jeannette Guillory Wheat, of Opelousas, LA; his parents, Joey Burgoyne Wheat and Shirley Ann King Wheat; his daughter, Heather Elizabeth Wheat, of Church Point, LA; two step-sons, Donald Briscoe, Jr. and wife, Carrie, of Port Barre, LA; Adam Briscoe and wife, Andrea, of Leonville, LA; one step-daughter, Bridget Lanclos, of Opelousas, LA; his brother, Joey Burgoyne Wheat and wife, Tish, of Pearl, Mississippi and his sister, Renee of Shreveport, LA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, February 20, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
