Stanley Guidry

Lawtell A Mass of Christian Burial for Stanley Red Guidry will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013, in the St. Bridget Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Bridget Church Cemetery in Lawtell, LA. Reverend Austin Leger will officiate the service.

Mr. Guidry, age 81, a resident of Lawtell, LA died on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA.

Stanley served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired with Dominques Stockyard as the office manager after 53 years and was a member of the Lawtell Water District and served as vice president. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Bertha Thibodeaux Guidry, of Lawtell, LA his sons, Jody Guidry and wife, Kathryn, of Lawtell, LA Chris Stanley Guidry and wife, Ruth, of Opelousas, LA his brother, Joseph U.L. Guidry and wife, Jean, of El Paso, Texas his sisters, Earline Guidry Hidalgo of Slidell, LA and Pamla Guidry DeJean and husband, David Y, of Belle Chasse, LA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Amanda Lee Guidry of Lafayette, LA Jody Michael Guidry, Jr. and wife, Katie, of Lafayette, LA Karyn Tankersley and husband, Michael, of Madison, Ohio Karalyn Collard and husband, Andrew, of Madison Heights, Michigan John Mark Bell of Madison Heights, Michigan Joseph Marks and wife, Bailey, of Rose Pine, LA Christian Marks of Nashville, Tennessee and 7 greatgrandchildren, Lauryn Te Fil Guidry, Ami Marks, Elise Marks, Michael Tankersley, Katy Rae Tankersley, Kelcy Tankersley and Jeffrey Tankersley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester J. Guidry and Hazel Roger Guidry.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
