Krotz Springs - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Stacey Jay Fontenot on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Krotz Springs.  Reverend Father Michael DeBlanc will officiate the Mass.  Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Anthony Church Cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stacey Jay Fontenot, age 47, on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Opelousas General Health System.

Stacey was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and sister-in-law. Mostly, she enjoyed being around her family and grandchildren. Stacey loved decorating for the holidays, mud riding and camping with her family and friends. She also loved going to Mississippi to visit Kevin and Kelly Moore and friends, where she enjoyed cooking, dancing and sitting by the fire. Stacey will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Fontenot of 20 years; her mother, Audrey Doucet (Kenneth); her son, Alex Joseph Bowman; her daughters, Aireal Lynn Bowman and Zata Reese Lanclos; her brothers, Kenneth Doucet, Jr. (Michelle), Blaine Anthony Doucet (April), Laine Paul Doucet, Will Joseph Doucet; her sisters, Christie Bernice Kimble (Greg), Jay Lynn Kaiser (Chris), Wendy Kay Lalonde (Nick), Glenda Faye Mayberry (Anthony); her sister-in-law, Melissa Naquin (Randall); her brother-in-law, Joey Fontenot (Millie) and her father-in-law, Jeral Fontenot.  She is also survived by four grandchildren, Brayden Bowman, Alaya Bowman, Ashton Bowman and Amelia Bowman.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Joseph Reed; her grandparents, Louis Stermer and Rosalie Stermer, Eraste Reed and Mabel Reed and her nephews, Zeth Doucet and Nicholas Doucet.

Pallbearers will be Joey Fontenot, Harry Nolan, Chris Kaiser, Nick Lalonde, Jayce Ramer and Alex Bowman.  Honorary pallbearers will be Blaine Doucet and Laine Doucet.

Visitation will be held in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  A rosary will be prayed Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.  The funeral home will reopen on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
