Shirley Guidroz

Melville Funeral services for Shirley A. Guidroz, the former Shirley Ann Neely, age 65, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in the First Baptist Church of Melville, followed by interment in the St. Francis Cabrini Church Cemetery in Livonia, LA. Brother Buddy Webb will conduct the service.

Mrs. Guidroz who was a native and resident of Melville, died at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long and brave fight against lung cancer. She died at 6:25 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010.

Survivors include two sons, Tommy Alphonse and wife Tina of Mansura, LA and Ray Alphonse and wife Linda of Watson, LA daughter, Twana Alphonse Bowman and husband Richard of Port Allen, LA two brothers, Lloyd Julius L.J. Neely of Melville and Kenneth Ray Neely of Krotz Springs sister, Susie Neely Barker grandchildren, Troy, Kristi, Corey, Jakob, Nikki, Casey, Sarah, Dale, Dathan, Jessie and Dakota great grandchildren, Ethan, Marissa, Aislynn, and Evan.

Preceded in death by her husband, Whitley Spookie Guidroz parents, Charles Charlie Sidney Neely and Grace Cora Bell Davis Neely a brother, James Louis J.L. Fuqua and a grandchild, Beth Alphonse Babin.

Pallbearers will be Chris Barker, Troy Alphonse, Dale Duplichen, Kenny Neely, Dathan Duplichen, Corey Alphonse, Jakob Alphonse and Josh Jarreau.

Visitation will be held in the First Baptist Church of Melville, located at 505 Second St., beginning Monday, June 21, 2010 from 5:0010:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
