Shirley Dohmann

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Shirley Ann Joubert Dohmann at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013, in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Mitch Guidry will be the Celebrant of the Mass.

Mrs. Dohmann, age 66, a resident of Lewisburg, LA, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Shirley, who was known as Nanny, loved all the children she took care of throughout the 27 years under her special care. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

Survivors are her husband of 48 years, Leland Dohman, of Lewisburg, LA her mother, Thelma Henderson Joubert, of Lewisburg, LA her sons, Raymond Leland Dohmann and wife, Brandi, of Lewisburg, LA J. Wade Dohmann of Lewisburg, LA her daughter, Cherisse E. Dohmann and her special friend, Lisa Breaux, of Lewisburg, LA her sisters, Ethel Hecard of New Orleans, LA and Alice Verrette of Lewisburg, LA. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Baylor Dohmann, Kohlden Dohmann, Collin McDonald and Raylee McDonald.

She was preceded in death by her father, Reme J. Joubert her brother, Raymond Joubert her paternal grandparents, Pierre Toy and Anais Fontenot Joubert and her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Ethel Stelly Henderson.

Visiting will begin at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, November 8, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be, Blair Verrette, Teddy Thibodeaux, Timothy Davis, Michael Castrogovannie, Larry Anslem, Richard Dohmann, Cory Cookmeyer, David Raines and honorary pallbearer will be Raymond Cormier.
