Shirley Danel

Opelousas Services for Shirley Francis Danel, age 86, will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in the St. Landry Catholic Church Cemetery in Opelousas, La.

Mrs. Danel, who was a resident of Opelousas, died on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, La.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Ann Slack of Opelousas, La.; Johnnie Danel Christy of New Orleans, La.; Denise Marcel Danel of Opelousas, La.; her 8 grandchildren, Bain Slack, Halliet Slack, Kara Slack, Heather Christy, Caroline Kearney, Brooke Christy, Makenna Krelle and Halliet James Trey Danel, III and 2 great-grandchildren, Katherine A. Slack and Laine M. Kearney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.J. Bubber Danel; her parents, John and Bertha Barlow Clark; her son, Halliet James Danel, Jr.; her daughter, Harriet Jane Danel; two brothers and two sisters.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m.
