Sheryl Dupre Fogleman

Sheryl Ann Dupre Fogleman was born on February 5, 1951, in Oakdale, Louisiana. She grew up in Waxia, Louisiana, and graduated from Port Barre High School. She was currently a resident of Gonzales, Louisiana. She passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, at Francois Bend Senior Living in Gonzales, Louisiana, surrounded by family. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. 

Funeral services for Sheryl Fogleman will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Pastor Benny Reppond will officiate the service and burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, Louisiana.  

A visitation for will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, Louisiana. The funeral home will re-open on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  

Over her 73 years, Sheryl had a rich life in love and dedication. She was married for 54 wonderful years to Robert W. Fogleman. Together, they built a family that she cherished deeply. Sheryl is survived by her sons, Robert W. Fogleman, Jr. and wife, Tanya, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Woodrow B. Fogleman and wife, Jessica, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; John B. Fogleman and wife, Charity, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Timothy "Timmy" Fogleman and wife, Brenda, of Edmond, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who will carry forward her spirit. She is also survived by her brother, Benjamin “Ben” C. Dupre and wife, Marie, of Leonville, Louisiana. Her family ties were incredibly important to her, and she relished spending time with them, particularly her husband and grandchildren, whom she adored. 

Pallbearers will be: Robert Fogleman, Jr., Woodrow Fogleman, John Fogleman, Timothy Fogleman, Johnathan Fogleman, Cody Fogleman and Austin Fogleman. 

In her professional life, Sheryl's proudest accomplishments included running and overseeing a medical transport service for many years, demonstrating her commitment to caring for others and making a significant impact in her community. Sheryl had a vibrant personality, always ready to share a laugh or lend a helping hand. She loved spending time at the mall with her husband. She took great joy in taking care of her horses and dalmatians, passions that reflected her nurturing nature. Her warmth and kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

She joins in eternal rest her parents, John Baptiste Dupre and Dorothy Deshotel Dupre; her brothers, Jeff Dupre and Johnny Dupre; and her paternal and maternal grandparents, Robert Dupre and Elise Fontenot Dupre, as well as Sidney Alcide Deshotel and Dora Ann Toubre Deshotel. 

Sheryl's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who are grateful for the love and joy she brought into their lives. As they gather to celebrate her life, they will remember her not just for her accomplishments, but for the profound and loving impact she made in their lives.
