Shelley M. Reeves

A Memorial Service for Shelley M. Reeves, age 42, will be held at a later date. 

Shelley M. Reeves was born on June 10, 1982, in Antioch, California and passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Opelousas General Health System.  

She worked as a caregiver in the healthcare field, where she dedicated herself to helping others.  

Shelley was known for her vibrant personality and her favorite color was purple. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was enjoying her favorite food, sushi, or immersing herself in the soothing melodies of music. Her affection for butterflies symbolized her free spirit and she enjoyed color-by-number games on her phone. Those who knew her will remember her laughter, which had an infectious quality that brightened the days of those around her. 

Shelley is survived by her fiancé, Donavon Keith Allemond; her mother, Valerie Way; her son, Landon LaHaye; her daughter, Kaylee Reeves; and her step-sons, Holden Allemond, Logan Allemond, and Cullin Allemond; her step-daughter, Lila Allemond, along with a host of other family members who cherished her deeply. 

She was preceded in death by her father, David Wayne Linebarger. 

Shelley's remarkable spirit and caring heart will be deeply missed by all who encountered her warmth and kindness. Her legacy of love will continue to resonate through the lives she touched and the memories she created.
