Sheila Fay Hester

Opelousas - Funeral Services will be held for Sheila Fay Pitre Hester on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.  Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the services.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sheila Fay Pitre Hester, age 69, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the Cornerstone at the Ranch Nursing Home in Lafayette, LA.

Sheila was born in Church Point, LA, and was a resident of Opelousas, LA.  Her Catholic faith was very important to her.  She worked as a registered nurse for Park Place Surgical Center in Lafayette for many years.  She loved being outdoors, fishing, and going to the camp at Toledo Bend.  She enjoyed finding a good book to read and she especially loved cooking for her family.  Sheila enjoyed horticulture and loved taking care of her plants.  She was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother who be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Keith Hester of Opelousas; her mother, Dora Pitre of Opelousas; and her granddaughter, Vivienne Hester of Opelousas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kermit Joseph Pitre; her brother, Randy Pitre; her paternal grandparents, Edgar Pitre and Anna Dupre Pitre and her maternal grandparents.
