Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial for Sheila Smith Stelly will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Matthew Higginbotham will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family requests visiting hours be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. On Friday visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheila Smith Stelly, age 55, on February 19, 2023, at her residence in Washington, La.

Sheila was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved gardening, flowers, and shopping. When it came to shopping, Antique shopping was one of her favorites. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Shane Stelly; her children, Kaleb Stelly and Shelby Stelly Bordelon; her parents, Kenneth Jerome Smith and Juanita Marie Brouillette Smith; her brothers, John Stephen Smith and Kenneth Scott Smith; her sister, Shana Smith Theriot; and her three lovely grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both of her paternal grandparents, Hubert Brouillette, Dorothy R. Brouillette, Jerome Smith, and Beatrice J. Smith.

Pallbearers will be Tristan Bordelon, Jeffery Stelly II, Scott Smith, Stephen Smith, Dustin Sebastien, and Jake Sebastien. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Stelly and Cody Taylor.
