Opelousas - Funeral Services for Shawnee "Bea" Leger Lord, age 45, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017, in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas with visitation being held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Vinson Tullos from the Opelousas Bible Church will conduct the service.

Mrs. Lord, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.

Shawnee was a devoted mother who enjoyed taking care of her children and her grandchildren. She loved being outdoors, on the boat or on the beach. She also loved spending time and making her nieces and nephews laugh. When she had family over visiting, Shawnee loved making them feel at home by waiting on them and cooking their favorite meals. She cherished the smallest mementos in her life and carried them with her wherever she went. Shawnee will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her mother, Shirley Daville Thibodeaux and husband, Randall of Leonville, LA; her companion, Cary David of Leonville, LA; her son, Kamin Zerangue and fiancé, Rikki Gaspard of Opelousas, LA; her daughter, Kelsey Jae' David and husband, Coby of Arnaudville, LA; her brothers, Pate Leger and wife, Rachel of Deweyville, TX; Cade Leger of Deweyville, TX; her sisters, Racheal Herpin and husband, Andre of Opelousas, LA; Casey Leger of Sunset, LA and three grandchildren, Chandler David, Julianna David and Wyatt David. She is also survived by her godchildren, Kaley Barron, Layne Herpin, Chase Romero, Chance Romero, Tanner Herpin and her great-niece and nephew, Brayden and Scarlett Barron.

She was preceded in death by her father, Preston Leger, Jr.; her husband, Eric Lord; her brother, David Shawn Leger and her grandparents, Wyble Daville, Lillian Lavergne and Preston Leger Sr.

Pallbearers will be Layne Herpin, Chase Romero, Chance Romero, Tanner Herpin, Travis Leger and Marty Cosgrove.
