Krotz Springs - A funeral service will be held for Sharon Cox, age 71, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016, in the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Brother Chad Bolfa will conduct the service. Burial will be held at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Cox, a resident of Krotz Springs, LA, died on Saturday, October 15, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon loved reading a variety of novels, from romance to mystery. She also loved traveling and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James Allen Cox, of Krotz Springs, LA; her daughters, Gerri Olivier and husband, David, of Port Barre, LA; Deanna Disotell and husband, Toby, of Krotz Springs, LA; her brothers, Frank Clampit and wife, Mary, of Michigan; Amos Clampit, Jr. and wife, Priscilla, of Missouri; her sisters, Juanita Holt of Texas; Oleda Ashby of Illinois; Geraldine Crumby of Kansas; Alice Kauffman of Missouri; Linda Tallant of Mississippi and her sister-in-law, Inez Clampit of Michigan. She is also survived by four grandchildren Shanna Ponthieux and husband, Michael, of Port Barre, LA; Scott Olivier and companion, Halie Johnson, of Krotz Springs, LA; Declan Disotell of Krotz Springs, LA; Dawson Disotell of Krotz Springs and six great-grandchildren Emma and Ivy Guillory, Mia and Ally Ponthieux and Owen and Tinsley Olivier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Sue Blaxton Clampit; her brother, Eugene Clampit and three infant siblings.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Sunday, October 16, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Monday, October 17, 2016, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers will be David Olivier, Toby Disotell, Scott Olivier, Declan Disotell, Dawson Disotell, Michael Ponthieux and Grant Polozola.
