Sergeant First Class Charles "Don" Nezat, Jr.

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Charles Donovan Nezat, Jr. at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  Reverend Tania Bryant will conduct the service.  Burial will follow in the Little Red Church Cemetery in Opelousas.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sergeant First Charles Donovan Nezat, Jr. age 35, on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Acadiana Medical Center in Eunice, La.

Charles proudly served his country for 12 years in the United States Army.  He enjoyed traveling and motorcycles.  Most of all, he loved being a dad to Lucille.  Charles will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Catherine Lucille Nezat of Columbia, TN; his parents, Charles Donovan Nezat, Sr. and Mary Bryant Nezat of Eunice, La.; his brother, Randy Nezat and wife, Jessica of Arnaudville, La.; his sisters, Shelbie Guillory and husband, Garrett of Mermentau, La. and Errica Linn and husband, Tony of Berwick, La.  He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Makenzie Linn, Karli Nezat, Landon Linn, Liam Guillory, Olivia Nezat, Gunnar Nezat and Beckham Guillory.

He was preceded in death by parental grandfather, James "Red" Nezat; his maternal grandparents, William Jurdon Bryant and Ruby Mai Bryant and his paternal great-grandparents, John and Issau Stelly.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.  Visitation will continue Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Randy Nezat, Garrett Guillory, Bobby White, Toby Darbonne, Mr. Nathen Goutro and Lee Richmond.  Honorary pallbearers will be R.J. Barton, Kayla Cheesman-Miles and all of his U.S. Army brothers and sisters.
