Seldon Dupre

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Seldon Dupre, age 82, will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Father Paul Bienvenu will conduct the services.

Mr. Dupre, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010, at Opelousas General Health System.

Seldon served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WWII. He was also employed by Howard Brothers and Bordelon Motors. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Pitre Dupre of Opelousas, La. his sons, Shearon Dupre and wife, Shirley Hollier Dupre, of Opelousas, La. Danny Dupre and wife, Cindy Bihm Dupre, of Baton Rouge, La. his daughters, Janice Fontenot and her fiance, David Kidder, of Opelousas, La. Gwen Brandon and husband, Gene Brandon, of Austin, Texas and Vicky LeLeux and husband, Jerry LeLeux, of Opelousas, La. his sisters, Emma Speyrer, of Washington, La. Anna Lafleur of Kinder, La. Charlene Carter of Alexandria, La. and Marlene Sonnier of Simmesport, La. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Elna Fontenot Dupre and his brother, Freddie Dupre, Jr.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2010 until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
