Scotty Richard

Opelousas Service for Scotty 705 Richard, age 40, will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, Louisiana. Father Paul Bienvenu will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mr. Richard, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Tuesday, May 5, 2009.

Scotty was a beloved father, son, husband and a very hard worker. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union 623.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Darlene Thibodeaux Richard of Opelousas, La.; his parents, Donald and Elta Lee Richard of Prairie Ronde, La.; his daughters, Kristen Richard and Amber Richard, both of Opelousas, La.; his brothers, Tony Peanut Richard and wife, Laura, of Lawtell, La. and his sisters, Jill Vasseur and husband, Tony of Prairie Ronde, La. and Wendy Richard and friend, Tara, of Phoenix, Arizona.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will re-open on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
